Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

Uluru is one of Australia's most recognisable natural landmarks. The sandstone formation stands 348 m (1,142 ft) high (rising 863 m/2,831 ft above sea level), with most of its bulk lying underground, and has a total circumference of 9.4 km (5.8 mi).[4] Both Uluru and the nearby Kata Tjuta formation have great cultural significance for the Aṉangu people, the traditional inhabitants of the area, who lead walking tours to inform visitors about the local flora and fauna, bush foods and the Aboriginal dreamtime stories of the area.

Uluru is notable for appearing to change colour at different times of the day and year, most notably glowing red at dawn and sunset.

Kata Tjuta, also called Mount Olga or The Olgas, lies 25 km (16 mi) west of Uluru. Special viewing areas with road access and parking have been constructed to give tourists the best views of both sites at dawn and dusk.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is the spiritual heart of Australia’s Red Centre. Located in the Northern Territory, Uluru is about 440 kilometres away from Alice Springs.

Lots of people choose to explore Australia’s outback at their own pace by driving the Northern Territory’s famous Red Centre Way. This gives you a chance to explore Uluru, Kings Canyon, the West MacDonnell Ranges and Alice Springs.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is open all year round. The park closes at night and opens:

    5.00 am - 9.00 pm during December, January, February
    5.30 am - 8.30 pm during March
    6.00 am - 8.00 pm during April
    6.00 am - 7.30 pm during May
    6.30 am - 7.30 pm during June, July
    6.00 am - 7.30 pm during August
    5.30 am - 7.30 pm during September
    5.00 am - 8.00 pm during October

The rice terraces of Longsheng Longji have 700 years of history, built during the Yuan Dynasty, represent an example of the intelligence of the Yao ethnic minority (people of the land along with other minorities) to adapt and rugged mountain terrain for growing rice terraces by the system. The Yao minority live in a beautiful wooden houses that fit the ground and draw a dreamscape. The women of this minority are characterized by a very long mane that are reproduced in a very special kind of bun. Finally remark that in this area there are two places to see the terraces: Ping'an and Jingken.

These two bodies of water were merging in the middle of The Gulf of Alaska and there was a foam developing only at their junction. It is a result of the melting glaciers being composed of fresh water and the ocean has a higher percentage of salt causing the two bodies of water to have different densities and therefore makes it more difficult to mix.

So it may be no surprise to you Tehran is very crowded. Twelve million people live here and after one day in Tehran you think you've seen them all.
But even after one day we began to love this city. There is so much here to see and do, you should stay here at least a week to explore all the museums, parks, shops and all the other things Tehran has to offer.

We were here only 3 days, 2 at the beginning and 1 at the end of our tour through Iran.
The Banay-é Azadi (Freedom Monument) is probably the first thing you see when you arrive in Tehran. It's not only close to the airport, it's also very remarkable. The monument was built in 1971 to celebrate the 2500 anniversary of the Iranian Empire. It should be able to enter the building for a view over Tehran and a visit of the Azadi museum, but when we were here everything was closed.
